The TWO TWENTYFIVE PRAYER CHALLENGE

Husbands, wives… grooms and brides… you can pray each day for your spouse. Set an alarm on your watch, cellphone, or smart calendar to remind you to pray each day at 2:25. There are several creative ways to be reminded to pray specifically for your spouse and marriage: Use a wedding march as your alarm, maybe the song from your reception, or a favorite song that reminds you of your dating years. Be creative. Those who hear your alarm may be pleasantly surprised you would take such a time to pray: a great testimony to your commitment to your spouse and reliance upon the Lord to keep it and strengthen it. It doesn’t have to be a long prayer. Pray for two minutes and twenty-five seconds; pray for two hundred and twenty-five seconds; just pray.

What to pray: Think about Genesis 2:25 and why the man and woman were unashamed. This was prior to the fall. The man and his wife were able to love one another just as they loved God: with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength. That, my friend, is unashamed. If your spouse could see inside your heart, soul, and mind, would you be unashamed? When you were reciting your vows on your wedding day you were sincere and fully devoted. Want to fan the flame on passion and commitment? Pray. Keep investing. Honor your spouse by calling upon the Lord. He will bring renewal and refreshment.  Trust Him.
